NATCHEZ — Thursday’s winter storm warning has caused major changes to the athletic schedule for the next few days.

The Region 7-1A basketball tournament at St. Aloysius in Vicksburg, which Cathedral is participating in, has been pushed back two days because of forecasted snowfall.

Thursday’s scheduled semifinal games were postponed until Saturday while Saturday’s championship and consolation games will now be played on Monday.

Saturday’s games will also be moved up two hours from when they were originally scheduled, meaning Cathedral’s boys will now play Sebastopol at 3:30 instead of 5:30 p.m. and Cathedral’s girls will take on West Lincoln at 5 instead of 7

The Region 7-3A basketball tournament at Franklin County High School has also been postponed for two days because of the forecasted bad weather.

Thursday’s semifinal games were pushed back until Saturday while Saturday’s championship and consolation games will now be played Monday.

However, the times for Saturday’s games will not change from their original times.

Jefferson County’s boys will take on Amite County at 5:30 p.m. Saturday while Wilkinson County and Franklin County’s girls will face off at 7.

Wilkinson County’s boys will conclude Saturday play when they take on Hazlehurst at 8:30 p.m.

The Region 6-6A basketball tournament at Natchez High School was postponed until Saturday. The Lady Bulldogs will face Terry in the championship game at 4 p.m. Saturday, while the boys will take on Wingfield at 5:30 p.m. in their championship match. Natchez High School will honor its senior players for Senior Night, with the ceremony beginning in the Natchez High School gymnasium at 3 p.m.

Meanwhile, the MAIS Class A South State tournament at Claiborne Academy in Haynesville, La., is also going on as scheduled.

Trinity Episcopal’s girls are scheduled to play at 1 p.m. today while the boys will play at 6 p.m. in the semifinals.

Likewise, the Class AA South State tournament is also progressing as scheduled for now, with the ACCS Lady Rebels scheduled to play in the semifinals against Bowling Green at 1 p.m. today.
