Psst … looking for something for your children to do this summer? The Miss-Lou is filled with activities, from summer camps and sports leagues to Bible schools and reading programs.

With a long two months ahead and only so many trips to Disney World in the works, parents need some ways to keep their children occupied this summer.

But they aren’t lacking for opportunities that are both educational and fun.

For example: Libraries on both sides of the river have extensive reading programs, the Ferriday gym has a variety of sports activities, there is a new children’s park on Wall Street and churches everywhere have Bible schools planned; just check our daily calendar for details.

So often we hear the complaint that the Miss-Lou doesn’t have enough activities for children. We need better ball fields; we need an aquatic center; we need a water park.

And it is true that it would be nice for Natchez to have a public pool again or to have a recreation center, but that takes money the city doesn’t have yet.

But we can appreciate the lengths to which many organizations and public entities are going to provide a wide variety of activities to answer that eternal summer complaint from every age from tots to teens: &uot;I’m bored!&uot;
