Greeting from the Natchez Senior Citizens Center.
The month of May is quite unique and exciting for the center.
Not only are we giving honor to Mother’s Day and Memorial Day, we are celebrating Older American’s Month which honors the achievements, accomplishments and legacy of our seniors.
In recognition or our community seniors, the Natchez Senior Citizens Center will host an open house at 800 Washington St., Natchez, and we would like to invite the general public to tour the facility and meet our dedicated, loving and inspirational seniors at 10 a.m. any day through Friday.
The official kickoff will be at 10 a.m. today with a program highlighting Older American’s Month and the goals, activities and events at the center and most of all our seniors.
As a special treat, the Natchez Senior Citizens Center Heavenly Choir will perform. So please mark your calendars and make preparations to come out, enjoy yourselves and help the Natchez Senior Center celebrate a legacy — our community seniors.
In addition, I would also like to encourage you to help celebrate Older American’s Month by taking a few moments of your time to show homage to our senior citizens.
As a tribute to all senior citizens, the Natchez Senior Citizens Center will distribute red, white and blue ribbons to be worn during the month of May.
The Retired Senior Volunteer Program — RSVP — will also have activities honoring our seniors this month.
Thank you in advance for your support.
It is our pleasure to serve our seniors and the community.
Sabrena G. Bartley is the executive director of the Natchez Senior Citizens Center.
