GLOSTER — Services for Geneva Huggins Russ, 73, of Gloster, who died Thursday, May 3, 2012, at her residence, will be at 1 p.m. today at Star Hill Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Gloster.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the church.
Mrs. Russ was born Dec. 28, 1938, in Gloster, the daughter of Streety Sr. and Minnie Lee Huggins.
Her favorite pastime included reading her Bible and listening to gospel singers like Bishop Paul Morton and the Full Gospel Fellowship Mass Choir. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, traveling and tending to her cattle.
Mrs. Russ was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Streety Huggins Jr.; and one sister, Wilmena Bell.
Survivors include her loving husband, Charles William Russ Sr.; five children, Charles William Russ Jr. of Newark, N.J., Lorraine Russ, Brenda Lynn Cothran and husband, John, and Marcell Russ, all of Dallas, and Barbara Lynn Ousby and husband, Calvin, of Madison; five grandchildren, Shameka Peak of New York, Tramel Russ and wife, Tiffany, of Clinton, John Carter Cothran of Lubbock, Texas, Jason Daniel Cothran of Dallas and Lauren Lynn Ousby of Madison; one great-grandson, Declan Joseph Russ; four sisters, Mary Lena Taplin of Centreville, Mamie Lee Banks, Winnie Brown and husband, Brown, and Fannie Thompson, all of Gloster; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
