Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Lee Simmons of Winnfield, La., announce the engagement of their daughter, Megan Lea Bryant to Mr. Jerry Leo Geter Jr. (Jay), son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Leo Geter of Natchez.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Jonesboro-Hodge High School in Jonesboro, La., and is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La. She is employed by Concordia Parish School Board as a teacher at Vidalia High School.

She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Leslie DeCou of Jonesboro and of Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Mixon Simmons of Winnfield. She is the great-granddaughter of Mrs. James Murray Peel of Jonesboro.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Trinity Episcopal Day School in Natchez and a graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson. He is employed by Corrections Corporation of America in Natchez as a counselor.

He is the grandson of Mrs. Clifford Lee Cobb, the late Clifford Lee Cobb, and the late Leo Arglass Geter Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Charles Gonsoulin, all of Woodville.

The wedding will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, June 9, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Natchez.

A reception will follow at the church.
