NATCHEZ &045;&045; Two of three Adams County sex offenders who failed to update their registration have been accounted for.

Marvin Anthony Jones, 36, 117 Opal Drive, was arrested Monday on a charge of failure to register as a sex offender. Jones called the Adams County Sheriff’s Office after seeing his name and mug shot in the newspaper last week.

Allen Delon Henderson’s family notified the ACSO when they saw his picture, saying Henderson was living in Biloxi. He has been told to register at the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office.

Sex offenders are required by federal law to register their whereabouts with the local sheriff’s office. Every 90 days the Department of Public Service sends the offenders a letter that they must sign and return.

Failure to return the signed letter means the offender is un-registered and DPS and the local sheriff’s office begin searching for the person.

Jones, Henderson and Steven Lynn Coney failed to return their last letter. Coney is still unaccounted for.

Sheriff’s Deputy Ricky Stevens said Jones said he never got his letter. Stevens said that was a common excuse.

&uot;The DPS says it is their responsibility,&uot; Stevens said. &uot;They know that letter is coming.&uot;

Jones was arraigned in an Adams County courtroom Monday and his case will be taken to court for a final decision.

Adams County has 52 registered sex offenders. The only ones who remain unaccounted for are Coney and Sean Patterson. Authorities do not expect that Patterson is in the area. He has been the subject of an FBI search for several years.
