PASADENA, Calif. — Services for J.T. Robinson Sr., 84, of Pasadena, Calif., who died Thursday, April 19, 2012, at his residence, will be at noon Monday at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Altadena, Calif.
Arrangements are under the direction of Woods and Valentine Mortuary in Pasadena.
Mr. Robinson was born April 18, 1927, in Meadville, the son of Aaron and Willie C. Bingham Robinson.
Mr. Robinson was deployed from Camp Shelby into the U.S. Army where he served. Upon being honorably discharged, he was awarded a World War II Victory Medal and an Occupational Ribbon. After leaving the military he was self-employed. He later worked for Sears and Roebuck in Pasadena where he was a supervisor of maintenance for 28 years. He was retired.
Mr. Robinson attended Metropolitan Baptist Church. He was also an avid auto mechanic which was not only a job but a hobby as well. Cars were one of his loves.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Carrie Mae Robinson-Potters; and one daughter, Deloris Quinn.
Survivors include his devoted wife, Grace Barnes Wallace; his previous wife, Reatha Sherrod; 12 children, Willie Jean Prudhomme and husband, Edward, Earnestine Alexander, all of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., Dr. Aaron T. Williams of Fontana, Calif., G.T. Hughes and wife, JoAnn, of Altadena, Deloris Quinn and husband, Edwin, Joyce Parker and husband, James, Janet Daniels and husband, Kevin, all of Jackson, J.T. Robinson Jr. and wife, Shernika, of Natchez, Capt. Linda F. Williams and husband, James, of Madison, Marlon Robinson, Michael Robinson and Mark Robinson, all of Pasadena; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives, friends; and a special niece, Bobby Nealy.
