GULFPORT (AP) — Florida authorities have arrested a man wanted in Hancock County in connection with the death of 70-year-old Wenda Lafern Holling of Kiln.

Holling’s body was found Jan. 26 in a wooded area off a Harrison County road. Her death was ruled a homicide. She had been missing since Jan. 5.

On Wednesday, U.S. marshals and deputies in Columbia County, Fla., arrested 63-year-old Timothy Nelson Evans without incident at the Driftwood Motel in Lake City, Fla.

Hancock County Chief Investigator Kenny Hurt tells The Sun Herald that lawmen sought the help of Florida authorities after tracking Evans there.
