NATCHEZ &045; Three Jefferson County residents are in jail after a Thursday kidnapping in Adams County, possible sexual assault and suicide.

Michelle Deon Spurlock, Jakela Travonne Gibson and Bryne Keith Nix were charged with two counts of kidnapping and one count grand larceny Thursday night after allegedly breaking into a Chatman Road house around 3 a.m. in white T-shirts and army fatigues, wrapping a woman in duct tape and forcing her and her two-month-old son into a car.

Authorities said the trio drove the car to the Fayette home of Jamer Harrid, 44, 69 Sunkist Road. The victim and her child were left with Harrid, who was the victim’s stepfather.

The victim has told Adams County Sheriff’s deputies that her stepfather sexually assaulted her before unwrapping the duct tape and telling her to drive away in his car, Sheriff Ronny Brown said.

She then drove the car to the Dollar General Store in Washington and called 911. The call came in at 12:48 Thursday.

Authorities alerted the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Mississippi Highway Patrol, who sent agents to Harrid’s Sunkist Road house. When officers confronted Harrid he shot himself and died at the scene, actions he told the victim he would carry out, Brown said.

JCSO found two of the suspects and the third suspect turned herself in at the ACSO.

Brown said all three said they were paid by Harrid to kidnap the victim.

Additional charges may be added by the JCSO. Sheriff Peter Walker was unavailable for comment Friday.

Authorities recovered the stolen vehicle at an Indian Mound near the Natchez Trace, but no weapon has been recovered, though a handgun was reportedly used.

Spurlock, 22, 638 Teauge St., Fayette, Gibson, 18, 301 Bailey Lane, Lorman, and Nix, 23, 108 Teague St., Fayette, are being held in the Adams County jail on $10,000 bond.
