Spring has arrived and the crawfish are in season! This can mean only one thing — its Crawfish Countdown time!

Next weekend is the 28th annual Crawfish Countdown at Cathedral School.

Come join us in the school cafeteria and courtyard for our annual spring fundraiser. We will be serving all the fresh, boiled crawfish with trimmings you can eat, along with all the ice-cold beverages you can drink, from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 28.

If you are not a crawfish fan, we will also be serving Pat Sanguinetti’s delicious homemade jambalaya.

You can round out your meal from a wide selection of delicious homemade desserts. In addition to all of this mouth-watering food, there will be plenty of great music, and best of all, a draw-down for the $5,000 grand prize. Tickets for this great event are only $100, which covers the ticket holder and one guest.

Where else can you find all this fun, and a chance to win $5,000 for only $100?

Tickets to the Crawfish Countdown are available through the Cathedral School Development Office in advance or at the door the night of the event.

You can reach the development office by calling 601-445-9844. You do not have to be present to win.

For an additional $30, second-chance insurance can be purchased. With this second chance insurance, if your ticket is one of the first 100 drawn it will be placed back in the drawing one time for a second chance at the grand prize of $5,000.

As an added bonus, additional prizes will be given away throughout the evening. You cannot afford to miss the fun and excitement!

In an effort to include everyone in this great event, we have a take-out option “crawfish & trimmings only” purchased the night of Crawfish Countdown for $40 per person. Take-out orders will be prepared and packaged for you at the time of the order. Please be prepared to wait for all take-out orders.

Come on out to the 28th annual Crawfish Countdown at Cathedral School this Saturday for an evening of community fun, scrumptious fare and anticipated winnings.

Who knows? You might be the lucky individual who walks away with the $5,000 prize. Just a polite reminder — you must be at least 21 years of age to attend this event. We hope to see you there!

Emily Maxwell and her husband Christopher are the chairmen of the 2012 Cathedral Crawfish Countdown, with Brad and Heather Burget serving as co-chairs.
