Boys: NHS gets third at Sunkist

LAFAYETTE, La. &045; The Natchez High Bulldogs went 2-1 and finish in third place out of 16 teams at the Sunkist Shootout with a 47-37 win over East Ascension Thursday night thanks to a big third quarter that erased a one-point halftime deficit.
Natchez (11-5) trailed East Ascension 30-29 at halftime, but the Bulldogs took the lead with a 14-3 advantage in the third quarter thanks to its press defense.
Vidalia 57, Harrisonburg 23
SICILY ISLAND, La. &045; The Vikings took a commanding 19-8 lead after one quarter of play over the Bulldogs at the Sicily Island tournament.
Vidalia (8-9) was led by Jarvis Whittley with 19 points and Josh Upchurch with 11. Even with the game out of reach, the Vikings’ defense shut out the Bulldogs in the fourth quarter.
St. Joseph 48, Monterey 29
MONTEREY, La. &045; The Wolves struggled early in the first as St. Joseph scored 20 points in the opening quarter en route to the 19-point win.
Adams 54, Centreville 47
WOODVILLE &045; Centreville hit a couple of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to make it a little tighter, but the Rebels were solid for the most part in taking the win at the WCCA Shootout.
