Celebrate new year with good news

Good morning, good Monday and Happy New Year. As we look forward to the new week, the new year and our new resolutions, we take a look back at the good news from the previous week.
4The Miss-Lou welcomed its first babies of the new year &045; although one took a day to join the world.
Riverland Medical Center and parents Emily Dannehl and Johnny Bell welcomed Trinton at 11 a.m. Saturday, while Carlesha Jalise Jackson was born that night at Natchez Community Hospital to Carl and Jackie Jackson. It wasn’t until Sunday, the second day of the year, that Natchez Regional Medical Center and parents Jim and Shelly Goldman and big sister Kelli Elizabeth met James &uot;Trey&uot; Alan III.
These babies are one of our first promises of the new year, and we welcome them to our community.
4A Natchez family got a special gift from a secret Santa when mom Joey Wilson received money from an anonymous donor to help replace the bicycles stolen before her two sons could open them. Wilson and her family were grateful for the gift, which proved to them that the spirit of Santa Claus is alive and well.
4A committee of local, state and federal officials is working hard to plan the party of the year &045; the May celebration of the opening of the final 8-mile stretch of the Natchez Trace Parkway into Natchez.
The celebration is indeed a huge achievement &045; the end of one of the longest-running federal construction projects in history &045; and we are honored and lucky to have the big day celebrated in Natchez.
Here’s hoping you and your family enjoy good news throughout the week.
