JONESVILLE — Services for Betty Jean Ewing Hale, 75, of Jonesville, who died Saturday, April 7, 2012, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sandy Lake Pentecostal church with the Rev. Jimmy Masters and the Rev. Joel Ford officiating.
Burial will follow at Heard Cemetery under the directions of Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m., from 8 to 9 p.m. and a Homegoing service from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the church.
Mrs. Hale was born Oct. 6, 1936, in Jonesville, the daughter of Asa Ewing and Ida Robertson Ewing.
She was a nurse for 35 years, a musician and songwriter.
Mrs. Hale was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Hale; her parents; one son, Kevin Hale; and one granddaughter, Kirsten Hale.
Survivors include four children, Debbie Pierce and husband, Doug, of Little Rock, Gwenda Whisler and husband, the Rev. Steve Whisler, of McKinney, Texas, Delan Hale and wife, Paula, of Franklinton, La., and Marcus Hale and wife, Twanna, of Mt. Herman, La.; two sisters, Goldie Buie of Jonesville and Yvonne Masters of Monroe, La.; one brother, Bobby Ewing of Jonesville; seven grandchildren who dearly loved her, Brent Pierce, Brad Pierce, Brittany Whisler, Caleb Whisler, Hunter Hale, Alexis Hale and Kenzie Hale; four great-grandchildren, Maddox Pierce, Addison Pierce, Luke Pierce and Sophia Clark.
Pallbearers will be Brent Pierce, Brad Pierce, Caleb Whisler, Hunter Hale, Wayne Patten and Sal Denova.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Ewing, Al Griffin, the Rev. David McKeithen, Charles Wascom, Wallace Morace and David Rose.
Special thanks to the ICU nursing staff and doctors at St. Francis Cabrini in Alexandria, La., for the outstanding care and compassion that they displayed.
