Metro makes arrest in drug investigation

NATCHEZ &045;&045; Several months of complaints and investigations led Metro Narcotics officers to the discovery of a large quantity of crack cocaine and powder cocaine at a Brenham Avenue residence Thursday night.
Agent Karl Pree estimated the value of the crack cocaine to be around $3,200, while the powder was around $4,000.
About $2,700 in cash was also found along with drug paraphernalia.
Carlos L. Fitzgerald, 28, 36 Brenham Ave., was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance (powder cocaine and crack cocaine) with intent to distribute in a church zone.
&uot;The police chief and the sheriff had gotten numerous complaints on this house,&uot; Metro Cmdr. Cliff Cox said. &uot;Metro Narcotics investigated and obtained enough information to run a search warrant on the residence.&uot;
Officers conducted the search and made the arrest just before 8 p.m. Thursday.
Fitzgerald is being held at the Adams County jail on $60,000 bond.
