Natchitoches — Pointe Coupee Parish sheriff’s deputies have identified the body of a woman who was pulled from the Red River just south of Concordia Parish last week.
Deputies have identified the woman as Cynthia Cox, 54, of Natchitoches.
Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries recovered the body around 4 p.m. Sunday, April 1.
The matter was handed over to the Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff’s Office because of the location of the river.
The autopsy, performed in Lafayette, La., was inconclusive for cause of death, but detectives were able to pull fingerprints taken from the woman at the forensics lab.
