NATCHEZ — Services for George Washington, 69, of Natchez, who died Monday, April 2, 2012, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at New Beginnings Baptist Church with the Rev. Walter Smith and the Rev. Carl Washington officiating.
Burial will follow at Morning Star Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Washington was born Dec. 24, 1942, in Franklin County, the son of Matt and Gertrude Drew Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Matt Jr., James and Henry Washington; father and mother-in-law, John and Laura Hauer; one brother-in-law, Clarence Hauer; and one sister-in-law, Lillie Washington.
Survivors include a loving and devoted wife, Marjorie Hauer Washington; five daughters, Rita Hayes, Jacqueline Pons, Penny Washington, Stacey Washington and Tracey Marsaw; two sons, Larry D. Hauer and wife, Maureen, and Darius Lloyd; eight sisters, Estelle Fleming, Martha Williams and husband, Robert, Judy Davis, Betty Sago and husband, Monroe, Harriet Green and husband, Donald, Lynelle Major and husband, Joe, Mary Davis and Melita Pickett; two brothers, Michael Washington and Carl Washington and wife, ReNetta; in-laws, Dorothy Smith and husband, Darnese, Rosemary Lomax, Bobbie Knight, John Hauer Jr. and wife, Sheener, Jeanette King and husband, Eddie, Patricia Stegall and husband, Willie, Larry J. Hauer and Delores Hauer; 21 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
