VIDALIA, La. &045; A day later, and there’s improvement to report.
The Vidalia Lady Vikings fared better at the plate Tuesday in a 6-1 win over St. Frederick’s to bounce back from Monday’s loss to Caldwell where they didn’t get a hit until two outs in the seventh.
Yet there’s still room to improve and get out of the rut. Vidalia struck out nine times but put together six hits to get the win.
&uot;We struggled a little bit,&uot; Vidalia head coach Gary Paul Parnham said. &uot;It was better than yesterday &045; a lot better than yesterday. But we’re still having problems putting the ball in play. But it was a little bit better.&uot;

In the fifth Rachel Roberts singled and scored on Chelsey Knapp triple for the 3-0 lead. Knapp scored when Bridget Waller reached on an error, and Waller scored on a Raley single that also put Clayton to third.
Jordan singled in Clayton for the 6-0 lead.
Corley was nearly unhittable on the mound as she finished with a one-hitter after going hitless through six. St. Frederick’s got its run in the seventh when Kayla Kalil got a double for her club’s lone hit and scored on an infield error.
Corley struck out six to keep St. Fred’s quiet.
