VIDALIA &045; Investigations are under way into a shooting that left one man lying on the side of the highway in the parish early Tuesday morning.

Concordia Parish Sheriff’s officers found the man, still alive, on the side of the road at the intersection of Rountree Road and U.S. 84 after receiving a 911 call at 2:41 a.m.

The man was transported to a Jackson hospital, but his condition was not known Tuesday afternoon.

Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Kathleen Stevens said investigations are ongoing, but no arrests have been made. &uot;Investigators are interviewing witnesses as this time,&uot; Stevens said. &uot;It’s a very active investigation.&uot;

No other information was available.

Rountree Road is on the outskirts of Vidalia, but is not in the city limits.
