VIDALIA &045; The man suspected of robbing the Cash Express last week is in custody at the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office jail.
Quincy Pindexter, 34, was arrested in Zachary, La., by authorities after Vidalia Police issued a warrant for him. He was arrested Tuesday and transferred to Vidalia Wednesday.
He is charged with armed robbery and allegedly entered the Carter Street business last Thursday afternoon and took $700. Police have said he was armed with a gun, but no one was injured.
Earlier in the week Police Chief Billy Hammers said a fingerprint found on the business’s glass door helped police identify the suspect.
Pindexter is being held on a probation violation and no bond has yet been set.
VPD also has a suspect in last Monday’s carjacking on Wilson Road. A spokesman said police would get a warrant and make the arrest soon.
No one was injured in the carjacking, but driver Duriel Brown reported that someone approached his car and held a screwdriver to his neck. Brown drove the car a short distance before abandoning it. When Brown returned with police the car was gone but was later found wrecked off Louisiana 131.
