Parents can learn about new bus routes and school-day start times, register new students, fill out free or reduced lunch applications and get information on parent center materials.

The event will last from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., but Little said parents probably only need a maximum of 30 minutes, depending on the number of children they have.

The reorganization of the schools eliminates geographic boundaries that determine which school students attend. In the past there have been two schools for grades pre-kindergarten through sixth-grade.

Now pre-K and kindergarten students will attend West Primary; first- and second-graders will attend Frazier Primary; third- and fourth-graders will attend McLaurin Elementary and fifth-and sixth-graders will attend Morgantown Elementary.

Seventh- through eighth-grades at Robert Lewis Middle School and ninth- through 12th-graders at Natchez High will remain unchanged.

Because many school buses will deliver students to multiple schools on opposite sides of town some school start times have been changed.

Little said representatives from the bus system would be on hand to day to answer questions.

The Steckler building is located behind Natchez High School.
