FERRIDAY, La. &045; A Ferriday man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly forcing his ex-girlfriend into his truck after punching and threatening to kill her, a Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office official said.
Daniel L. Scott, 24, 415 Bayou Drive, Ferriday, was booked on charges of simple kidnapping, simple battery and unauthorized use of a moveable for the Aug. 9 incident.
CPSO Investigator Bobby Sheppard said Scott followed her from a friend’s house and blocked her vehicle with his truck when she pulled to a stop at an intersection on Mack Moore Road
in Ferriday.
Scott then pulled her out of her vehicle, dragging her by the shirt while punching and threatening to kill her, the woman told deputies. Scott then threw her in the bed of his truck and drove down U.S. 84 where he parked behind a building.
The woman ran before Scott again grabbed her and took her back to the truck. Scott then left the scene when a friend of the woman pulled up. The friend took the woman to the Ferriday Police Department, where officials alerted the sheriff’s office.
The woman sustained only scrapes and bruises.
Scott turned himself in at the sheriff’s office Tuesday. His bond was set at $150,000 in the Seventh Judicial District Court.
