Local man charged in Monday murder

NATCHEZ &045;&045; A suspect is in custody in the Monday night shooting death of a Natchez man.
Brian Wilson, 21, turned himself in to Natchez police shortly after he allegedly shot and killed James Anderson, 28, about 11 p.m. Monday on Garden Street.
Anderson, of 28 N. Commerce St., was taken to Natchez Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 1:21 a.m., Adams County Coroner James Lee said. An autopsy to determine the cause of death should be complete by today.
Wilson, of 1018 Martin Luther King Jr. St., is charged with one count of murder in connection with the incident. No bond had been set Tuesday afternoon.
Natchez Police Chief Mike Mullins said the shooting involved a domestic dispute.
&uot;The preliminary investigation shows that the victim pointed a weapon at several family members and the suspect,&uot; Mullins said. &uot;When he turned the weapon on the suspect, Wilson then fired.&uot;
Mullins said the investigation is still ongoing. The police recovered both weapons.
The last murder in the city limits was the Aug. 15, 2004 death of Jesse Lamark Garrison in the Huddle House parking lot.
Jim Tuesnoe IV later plead guilty and was sentenced to 20 years in jail.
Marshall Brown was found dead in the county on March 21, 2004. No arrest has been made in connection with his death.
