FERRIDAY — A Louisiana State Police trooper and one Vidalia man have been released from medical care following an accident Friday afternoon at the intersection of Louisiana 425 and 3232.
Thomas L. Williams, 84, and his passenger, Earlene Williams, 79, both of Vidalia, sustained moderate injuries and were transported to Riverland Medical Center following the collision.
Thomas was released over the weekend, while Earlene remained as a patient as of Tuesday afternoon.
Trooper John Parker of Deridder, La., was airlifted to Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria with moderate injuries.
Parker was released on Saturday.
Louisiana State Police Public Information Officer Scott Moreau said that Parker was driving south bound on Louisiana 425 approaching 3232 when the Williams’ vehicle, a 1998 Dodge pickup, failed to yield and turned in front of Parker and collided with his Ford Explorer SUV.
Parker’s vehicle rotated 58 feet before impacting a ditch on the side of Louisiana 425 where it then tipped on its side.
Concordia Parish Fire District firefighters removed the roof of the SUV before getting Parker on a stretcher and into the helicopter at approximately 12:34 p.m.
No citations were issued.
