Natchez &8212; An unidentified painter was injured when he fell from a work crane onto the roof of the Eola Hotel Tuesday morning.
A three-man crew was transporting materials from the roof of the Eola ballroom on Wall Street when the painter fell out of the basket.
Another painter in the basket at the time estimated his partner fell 8-10 feet but said he did not lose consciousness.
Paramedics used a backboard and brought him down on the crane. He was taken to Natchez Regional Medical Center.
He was released later in the day and returned to his hometown of Baton Rouge, reportedly with a broken ankle and possible knee damage.
The painters work for P.B. Painting in Baton Rouge.
The company has been working for the past month painting the exterior of the hotel and could not be reached for comment.
