VICKSBURG — Services for Rolland “Rolly” Oldenburg Sr., 73, of Vicksburg, who died Sunday, March 4, 2012, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg, will be at 11 a.m. today at Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Chaz Rowland and Dr. Chip Starnes officiating.
Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg.
Mr. Oldenburg was born in Muskegon, Mich., the son of John and Marge Oldenburg, and moved to Vicksburg in 1967. He was employed by and retired from International Paper Company in Vicksburg as a supervisor.
He was a member of Bovina Baptist Church where he served as an active deacon and a member of Friendship Sunday School Class.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Oldenburg was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, the Rev. Bob Oldenburg; and one sister, Marylin Mobley.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Katherine Oldenburg; two sons, Wayne Oldenburg and Johnny Oldenburg, both of Vicksburg; one brother, David Oldenburg of Athens, Ala.; two sisters, Kathy Wickershiemmer and Corky Collins, both of Battle Creek, Mich.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Edmond McMaster, Sonny Hickman, Parker Stevens, Jerry Lewis, Eugene Perrine, Marty Nolan, O.D. Van, Sam Butler and Luke Mobley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Red Carpet Sam’s, Rocky Bayou Hunting Club and Friendship Sunday School Class Bovina Baptist Church.
