FERRIDAY — Services for Mitchell “Mike” E. Price Sr., 69, of Lake St. John, who died Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Lake St. John, will be at 2 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday with the Rev. Clyde Ray Webber officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the funeral home.
Mr. Price was born July 20, 1942, in Ferriday, the son of James Eugene Price and Donna Mae Price. He was a farmer for 33 years and retired as a correctional officer for the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Mr. Price enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing his piano and spending time with friends, family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Mitch Price; and one brother, James Richard Price.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Norma Jean Price; three daughters, Rami Loomis and husband, Johnny, of Monterey, Jeani Casey and husband, Dan, and Latefy Schoen and husband, Tom, all of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Patsy King and husband, Don, of Bastrop, La., and Glenda Price Lewis of Lake St. John; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Steve Person, Mike Person, Pat Person, Paul Person, Jeff Person, Duke Loomis, Deke King and Johnny Clifton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ken Trent, Tommy Denning, Don Marshall, Max Huff, Delane Burnette, Julian Glanton, Billy Rucker, Donnie Ater, William Coleman and the members of the Swamp Water Band.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Delta Charter Group in Ferriday.
