A “Pageant of regal crowns: Distinguished women wearing impressive hats” will be the highlight of the program. Women have traditionally worn hats to church and other celebrations of significance as a symbol of respect, dignity and elegance. This portion of the program is meant to continue that sense of pride.

Women will participate in three categories: ladies of grace, the elect lady and fashionistas.

The Rev. and Mrs. Leon and Louis Howard of Ebenezer Church in Natchez will be guest commentators for The Elect Lady. The content of the program is meant to be a tribute to all women and particularly to those who have spent years in the public schools empowering others. Retired educators are encouraged to attend the celebration.

The program is a fundraiser, and a portion of the funds will be used for the chapter’s selected historically black college or university, Alcorn State University, scholarship endowment.

The other portion will be used for the support of the chapter’s program facets in the five-county area: Adams, Claiborne, Lawrence, Lincoln and Pike counties and Concordia Parish.
