NATCHEZ — A month after he was last seen alive, the search for a Mangham, La., man whose truck was found abandoned in Adams County resumed Friday, this time by both the Adams County and the West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s offices.
Shaun Thornhill, 41, was last seen alive Jan. 23 in the West Feliciana community of St. Francisville, approximately 60 miles south of where his vehicle was found later that week.
A spokesperson for the ACSO said Friday both the ACSO and WFPSO scoured the woods in the Kingston area near where Thornhill’s truck was found. Cadaver-sniffing dogs were also used during the search. The ACSO spokesperson said the renewed search was due to a newly developed lead, but declined to specify the details of the lead.
Sheriff Chuck Mayfield did not return repeated phone calls.
The search for Thornhill has moved from Adams County to St. Francisville and now back in the time since his disappearance. Initial efforts included on-the-ground searches and helicopter fly-overs by Air Evac. Thornhill is described as being 5-foot-10-inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. He has short black hair, blue eyes and a scar above his left eye.
Thornhill’s family members have said they don’t know why he would have been in Adams County, but that he had gone to the West Feliciana area looking for work.
Information can be reported to the ACSO at 601-442-2752.
