TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (AP) — Plans for Gov. Rick Snyder to visit a Traverse City school hit a little snag when organizers realized classes wouldn’t be in session that day.
The Traverse City Record-Eagle reports (http://bit.ly/z9Wtr2) Snyder’s March 2 visit to Traverse Heights Elementary School is expected to go on. He’ll check out a farm-to-school food program. If they want, students may come in for breakfast and to hear Snyder speak.
The Michigan Land Use Institute and the Traverse City Area Public Schools district organized the visit.
Snyder spokeswoman Sara Wurfel says in an email to The Associated Press that organizers decided not to cancel or reschedule. She says it’s an “unfortunate situation” but the governor is looking forward to the school visit.
Snyder also speaks to a business group that day in Traverse City.
