GLOSTER — Services for Rebecca “Choo Choo” Taplin, 64, of Gloster, who died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at Field Memorial Hospital in Centreville, will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Gloster First Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Shavers Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from noon until service time Sunday, both at the church.
Mrs. Taplin was born Oct. 11, 1947, in Gloster, the daughter of Able and Katie Veal Taplin. She was a member of the Pastor’s Aide and Senior Mission at Gloster First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father; paternal grandparents, Silas Taplin Sr. and Luberta Norman Taplin; and maternal grandparents, Robert Veal and Pearl Singleton Veal.
Survivors include her mother of Gloster; one daughter, Angela D. Taplin; one son, Brad Taplin and wife, Michelle, all of Jackson; three sisters, Carolyn Taplin, Linda Taplin and Claudia “Cazelle” Taplin Smith, all of Gloster; five brothers, Shelton Taplin, Robert Taplin, both of Jackson, Ricky Taplin of Southaven, Carl Taplin and Able Taplin Jr., both of Gloster; four aunts, Stella Weathersby, Carrie Powell, both of Gloster, Myrtis Williams of McComb and Sadie Veal of Alexandria, La.; one uncle, Robert Veal of Gloster; seven grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
