FERRIDAY &8212; There in the makeshift locker room at Trinity Episcopal School, the Huntington Lady Hounds were just disgusted.

You would be, too, if you were 0-12 and quite possibly the best winless team around.

The 58-22 loss may have been a turning point, because less than 24 hours later the Lady Hounds turned it around with a 57-51 win over Centreville for the first win of the season.

The Lady Hounds (1-12) lost to Centreville by 26 points in the first meeting.

&8220;We had a big powwow after the game last night,&8221; Huntington head coach Penny Moak said. &8220;Last night we were pretty upset, and they were devastated. I told them they&8217;ve got two choices when things get hard. You can quit or keep working and try to get better. I told them I&8217;ll keep working if you will. They came out tonight and got it done.&8221;

Finally, the shots started to fall after seemingly none fell in the loss at Trinity. And the Lady Hounds hit from the free throw line late after Centreville battled back to make things interesting in the fourth quarter.

Huntington led 28-17 at half before the Lady Tigers trimmed the deficit to 43-36 heading into the fourth. There the Lady Hounds hit 10 of 12 from the line while spending most of the quarter in the double bonus, while Katie Moak hit five of six from the line.

&8220;They started out in a zone and leaving us open from the outside,&8221; Moak said. &8220;Leslie (Wagoner) was on with her 3s, and Katie was driving and getting fouled. They went to a man, and we had a little momentum and some confidence built up by then. They did well.&8221;

Katie Moak led the Lady Hounds with 18. Brittany Boatner led CA with 18.
