Matthew Martin, Jenny Yakey and Dustin Liberto of Natchez and Vidalia, announce the engagement of their mother, Carol Sue “Suzy” Skipper to Eddie Calvin Ray, son of Bernice Richardson of Natchez, formerly of West Point.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of the late Willis and Virginia Gill of Natchez. She is a graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Natchez.
She is the granddaughter of the late George and Ethel Perry of Catlettsburg, Ky., and Elkie and Beulah St. Claire of Columbus, Ohio. She is a member of the Covington Road Church of Christ, a member of the Adams County Search and Rescue Team and a member of the Foster Mound Volunteer Fire Department.
The groom-to-be is a graduate of Natchez Trace Academy in Ridgeland. He is a U.S. Army veteran of six years from 1981 to 1987. He is employed by Big River Broadcasting in Ferriday since 2007. He is the grandson of the late Wiley C. and Virginia Edwards of West Point.
He is also a member of Covington Road Church of Christ and the Adams County Search and Rescue Team. He has served as fire chief for Foster Mound Volunteer Fire Department for five years and is a Boy Scout leader.
The wedding will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at Covington Road Church of Christ with Bro. Dick Root officiating.
A reception will follow at the church.
