NATCHEZ &8212; For the fourth time in five years, his fellow county supervisors have named Darryl Grennell as the board&8217;s president.
Since 2002, the only time Grennell hasn&8217;t served as president was 2003, when he served as the board&8217;s vice president.
&8220;I appreciate your confidence in re-electing me,&8221; Grennell said.
Supervisor Sammy Cauthen was elected vice president, and Bob Latham was re-appointed as the board&8217;s attorney.
Also during Monday&8217;s meeting, supervisors:
4Approved travel expenses for Grennell and Latham to travel to Washington Jan. 30 through Feb. 3 for discussions on incentives to bring Rentech&8217;s proposed coal gasification plant to Adams County.
4Said they will study placing flood control structures in the Horseshoe Lane area, where at least three houses were flooded after Hurricane Rita.
4Discussed the need for a storage building big enough to store equipment for the Civil Defense Office as well as some equipment the Red Cross had left over after Hurricane Katrina.
