NATCHEZ — Services for Ruth Evenia Stanton, 88, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Zion Baptist Church on Old Washington Road with the Rev. K.E. Stanton officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Curtis Funeral Home.
Special services and visitation will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral.
Mrs. Stanton was born March 12, 1923, in Chicago, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Gordon.
Mrs. Stanton was a member of the Eastern Star and corresponding secretary of the Sunday School BTU Convention of Adams County. She was Baptist.
Survivors include four daughters, Helen Boston and Adell Cole of Natchez, Rejanah Stanton of Vicksburg and Iretha Brown and husband, John, of Silver Spring, Md.; and one son, Ernest Stanton and wife, Pauline, of Los Angeles.
Pallbearers will be John Brown, Henry Price, Ja’Darrius Johnson, Jerome Mayberry, Donald Smith and James Davis.
The family thanks the staff at Glenburney Nursing Center and Natchez Community Hospital for the care given their loved one.
