MONROE, La. &8212; David Boydstun was ejected toward the end of Huntington&8217;s game at Tensas Tuesday, and that meant girls head coach Penny Moak was supposed to coach the boys team for the first time in her career.
But because her younger daughter, Julie, suffered a concussion during the junior high girls game and coach Moak ended up missing the rest of that game and most of the varsity girls&8217; game, David Boydstun Jr. wound up coaching the Hounds, who responded with a 78-67 win over the Mustangs.
Columbia 62, Wilkinson County 57
WOODVILLE &8212; Wilkinson County outscored Columbia 19-13 in the second quarter to take a 30-29 halftime lead. But Columbia responded with a 33-27 advantage in the second half.
Gary James led WC with a game-high 25 points.
Adams Christian 48, Centreville 42
CENTREVILLE &8212; Adams Christian (8-17) ended up with the stunning win on the road, mainly because Centreville (10-12) had no answer for Timmy Foster, who led the Rebels with a game-high 28 points.
West Lincoln 66, Cathedral 57
BROOKHAVEN &8212; Despite getting double-doubles from Matt Goss, who had 21 points and 10 rebounds, and Alex Middleton, who had 14 points and 14 rebounds, Cathedral (2-6, 9-13) didn&8217;t have quite enough offense in the second half to stay with the Bears.
