CENTREVILLE &8212; With Katie Ann Swinny, Brittany Gamberi and Mattie Geoghegan not at 100 percent, Adams Christian needed to step up as a team for the Lady Rebels to get back on track.

What the Lady Rebels and especially head coach John Gray were not hoping for was a repeat of their seven-point performance in the second half after Swinny was unable to play in that half because of an injured elbow of their 36-32 loss at Oak Forest.

The Lady Rebels answered a lot of questions about their resiliency as they dominated the first half en route to a 60-41 win over the Centreville Lady Tigers

&8220;We played real good. We did a super job rebounding,&8221; Gray said. &8220;We did as good of a job defensively as we had all season.&8221;

Adams Christian (21-6) took control of this game early on both ends of the court. By the time the first quarter was over, the Lady Rebels had a 24-2 lead over the Lady Tigers.

Tensas 75, Franklin Academy 37

WINNSBORO, La. &8212; Tensas (8-0, 23-4) put this game away by holding Franklin Academy (2-6, 5-21) scoreless in the first quarter. The Lady Chiefs led 15-0 at the end of that quarter and had a commanding 36-12 lead at halftime.

Samantha Shipman led Franklin Academy with 11 points.

West Lincoln 51, Cathedral 27

BROOKHAVEN &8212; West Lincoln (6-3, 12-7) outscored Cathedral (2-6, 3-15) 14-8 in the second quarter to take a 16-13 halftime lead.

Mattie Smith led Cathedral with nine points.

Franklin County 56, South Pike 39

WESSON &8212; The Lady Bulldogs used a 17-8 advantage in the second quarter to pull away from the Lady Eagles after leading by just four points after one quarter of play to remain undefeated.

Victoria Hunt led Franklin County (9-0, 15-0) with a game-high 23 points.

River Oaks 58, Huntington 51

MONROE, La. &8212; Head coach Penny Moak almost didn&8217;t get to see the end of this District 7-A game after her youngest daughter, Julie Moak, suffered a concussion during the junior high girls game after a collision with teammate Emily Johns when both players were going for a loose ball.

Grubby Harrell had 16 points to lead the Lady Hounds.

Columbia 57, Wilkinson 50

WOODVILLE &8212; Columbia (7-1, 18-5) had a 30-23 halftime lead, but Wilkinson County (5-5, 14-10), ranked No. 7 in The Democrat&8217;s public school girls&8217; poll, used a 16-10 advantage in the third quarter to cut the lead to one point.

Columbia&8217;s Lady Wildcats, however, ended any thoughts of an upset win by outscoring the host Lady Wildcats 17-11 in the fourth quarter.

Kimberly Griffin had 13 points and Toni Anthony had 11 points to lead Wilkinson County.

Block 57, LaSalle 45

JONESVILLE &8212; The Lady Bears controlled the tempo throughout much of this District 3-1A game and led by 13 points going into the fourth quarter.

Block (5-1, 14-8) dominated both ends of the court in the first quarter and had 16-5 lead over LaSalle (2-4, 9-16) heading into the second quarter.

The Lady Tigers didn&8217;t have a double-digit quarter until the fourth quarter. They scored 22 points in that quarter, but weren&8217;t able to slow down the Lady Bears, who had 21 points.

Ashley Green led Block with a game-high 21 points.
