VIDALIA — A Sunday night fight between two brothers ended with one trip to jail and one trip to the hospital for the family.
Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a 911 call shortly after 8 p.m. on East Cottondale Court of a fight in progress involving guns and knives, according to a CPSO press release.
The release states Ronnie Reed Cupstid, 42, 115 E. Cottondale Court, and Curtis Shane Cupstid, 40, of Monterey, were reportedly barbecuing when they began fighting. Ronnie reportedly went inside the house, got a 20-gauge shotgun and hit Curtis in the forehead with the shotgun receiver.
Ronnie was charged with a aggravated second-degree battery and was released on a $10,000 bond Monday. Curtis received a summons for disturbing the peace by fighting.
Curtis was transported to Riverland Medical Center by ambulance and was transferred to an Alexandria area hospital for treatment for head injury.
