NATCHEZ — Services for Linda Carol Garner, 56, of Metairie, La., who died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, in Metairie, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Rushing officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be at 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.

Garner was born Feb. 12, 1955, in Natchez, the daughter of John Benjamin Garner and Hettie Easley Garner.

She proudly serviced her country in the U.S. Navy and continued with 21 years of service in the U.S. Army Reserve and was a member of the Louisiana Honor Guard. Garner was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harper Lee Garner and Armenthia Stewart Garner and Levi Cade Easley and Elizabeth Smith Easley; her father, John Benjamin Garner; and her stepfather, Horace Miller Creech.

Survivors include her mother, Hettie Creech of Monterey; one brother, Jimmy Garner and wife Francis of Natchez; one sister, Yvonne Broadus and husband, Gerald Broadus of Escatawpa; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Deshotel, Ronnie Xedos, Douglas Easley, Roger Easley, Dennis Britt and Cade Graham.
