NATCHEZ &8212; Area law enforcement officers seized half a pound of cocaine Friday afternoon, the largest Adams County seizure in recent history, they said.

A Metro Narcotics traffic stop around 3:30 led to the discovery of a small amount of powder cocaine in the passenger&8217;s possession. The vehicle&8217;s driver &8212; Charles Harrison &8212; was on probation for other drug charges.

Harrison was found to be in violation of his probation rules, and the Mississippi Department of Corrections was called in to search his house, Metro agents said.

At his Natchez Street home MDOC and Metro agents found 153 grams of crack cocaine, 78.7 grams of powder cocaine and $530 in cash. All together, the drugs weighed .5115 pounds and have a street value of approximately $46,380.

&8220;We usually get a gram or two grams,&8221; Metro Cmdr. Cliff Cox said. &8220;This is 90 times what the average person we catch has on them.&8221;

Harrison was arrested on charges of possession of cocaine in a playground zone, expired tag and driving under suspension.

The car&8217;s passenger, Kenneth Hogan, was arrested on charges of possession of crack cocaine.

Sheriff Ronny Brown and Police Chief Mike Mullins said the quantities of drugs recovered were the largest they&8217;d seen in Adams County from one drug bust.
