VIDALIA — Two of the three suspects involved in an armed robbery of the Carter Street Pizza Hut are in jail.
Thlungas M. Prater, 135 Lewis Drive Apt. 57, Natchez, was booked Tuesday in Vidalia on a bench warrant for attempted armed robbery with a firearm.
Following the Dec. 19 incident, the Vidalia Police Department issued a warrant for Prater’s arrest on Dec. 21.
Investigator Brandon Gremillion said Prater is a suspect in the armed robbery and that the investigation is ongoing to find the third accomplice.
Eric K. Holmes, 25, 111 Hicktober St., Natchez, was booked Friday in Vidalia on a bench warrant for attempted armed robbery with a firearm.
According to police, three young males wearing dark, hooded clothes entered the restaurant and lingered while customers made orders and eventually left.
After making sure no one else was in the restaurant or in the parking lot, the three men reportedly approached the employee working the cash register and one of them displayed a gun strapped to his side, telling the employee to take them to the store safe.
Instead of cooperating, however, all of the employees evacuated the building, according to police, and the unsuccessful suspects left without taking anything.
Gremillion said Prater and Holmes were charged with attempted armed robbery with a firearm while the police department determines who had the weapon and how many were involved.
Anyone with knowledge about the matter should contact Gremillion at 318-336-5254.
