Last week full of fun, praise in area

Good morning and good Monday. Today begins the last week of April and, if you&8217;re like us, you are amazed at how quickly the month has sped by. As is our custom each Monday, we&8217;d like to begin a new week by reflecting on some of the good news from our community last week.
4Miss-Lou residents got a belly full of vittles and a soulful of music this weekend after the 11th annual Natchez Bluff Blues Festival and the third annual Vittles and Fiddles Festival. The annual festivals are great, family attractions that are fun for locals and visitors alike.
4Workers with Catholic Charities in Natchez were recognized by the Jackson diocese for their exemplary work in helping evacuees from Hurricane Katrina last fall. Natchez residents well know the work Catholic Charities do for local residents throughout the year, but they &8212; like other area charitable agencies &8212; stepped up their efforts when Katrina struck. We applaud them for their work.
4Organizers of a project that would bring walking and bicycling trails to downtown Natchez say the project is still a long way from completion, but the work to make the project a reality are well under way. With more than $16,000 of private funds already raised, the request for $1.3 million from the Mississippi Department of Transportation is expected this week.
We hope your week is filled with lots of good news.
