DOLOROSO — Services for Wilbert Turner, 82, of Baton Rouge, formerly of Doloroso, who died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at the LTAC Hospital of E. Feliciana in Clinton, La., were 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2012, at Free Spring Baptist Church with the Rev. George Norflin officiating.
Burial was Monday at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mr. Turner was born May 11, 1929, in Doloroso, the son of Henry Turner and Mariah Boyd Barnes.
He was a Korean War veteran, earning a Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
Mr. Turner was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include six brothers, Pearo Barnes, Eugene Barnes and wife, Alice, Abraham Barnes and wife, Glenda, all of Baton Rouge, George Barnes and wife, Carrell, of Dallas, Willie Turner and Walter Turner and wife, Hilda, all of Houston, Texas; five sisters, Margaret Elie and husband, Joseph, of Baton Rouge, Jessie Sewell of Zachary, La., Luticia Williams and Floridastine Ivory, both of Natchez, and Margaret Moore of Houston; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
