For those of you researching family lines in the United Kingdom, news of an interesting website has crossed my desk. BMD-Certificates is a team of expert researchers who specialize in acquiring replacement birth, marriage, and death certificates.
They offer certificate copies from January 1837 to July 2004, all obtained from official Government sources for England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. All certificates are the &8220;full&8221; or &8220;long&8221; form, certified and official.
Not sure of a date? Not to worry. Although they do require an age in years for death requests after 1955, for all other requests a search for one year on either side of the given date is automatically conducted just in case the information was lost in translation.
If you don&8217;t have every detail of information for your request and no information can be found, the group offers a full refund for their charges. If there is a choice of entries or any other doubt about information found, the team will consult you and will not act until they receive your further instructions. Should you decide not to proceed, a complete refund is supplied.
Overseas Certificates are also available as long as the birth, death, or marriage was recorded with a British Overseas Authority at the time it occurred.
BMD-Certificates offers Standard processing which ships the information in 15 business days; Swift processing which ships in five business days; and Express service available in 1 business day. All certificates are sent by air mail. Charges for these services vary accordingly.
The group accepts major credit cards, debit cards, &8216;cheques&8217;, and money orders and their payment scale is in keeping with the service provided. They accept US dollars as well as British pounds, Euros and Australian, Canadian and New Zealand dollars.
The Web site (at
http://www.bmd-certificates.co.uk
) is easy to navigate and the ordering process is clear and simple. This is a great service and could be the answer to many a researcher&8217;s prays. Check it out &8230; you just may be one of those researchers.
