WESSON — Cathedral’s varsity soccer teams were originally scheduled to take on Loyd Star at the soccer field on the campus of Copiah-Lincoln Community College last Monday.
However, because of the 2012 BCS National Championship Game, those games were postponed until Tuesday. Now they have been postponed again and will probably be played at the the end of the regular season.
“It started raining in the Brookhaven area (late in the afternoon). We were going to play at the field at Co-Lin. They (Loyd Star) said there was standing water, so they decided not to play,” Cathedral soccer coach Dennis Hogue said.
Dates for the make-up games are still in the air. Hogue said that both teams have conflicting schedules and that they will have to cancel a non-region game before the season ends.
Cathedral will next host Wesson this Friday with the varsity girls game at 5:30 p.m., followed by the varsity boys games at 7 p.m.
