Job fair gives employees good jump

Good morning and good Monday. The best way to start off a new week is with a little good news from last week.
4More than 1,000 potential employees showed up for the Great River Regional Job Fair, with thousands more submitting resumes. The crowd impressed everyone &8212; even the organizers &8212; and we hope the fair will help connect employees with employers.
4Vidalia residents renewed a critical recreation tax levy that funds maintenance and building projects in Recreation District No. 3 in Vidalia. The move helps secure the future of recreation in the area.
4Local radio announcers Henry Davis Jr. and Darrell White, &8220;Gospel Slim&8221; and &8220;Mr. Melody&8221; respectively, earned statewide recognition for their on-air efforts. Congratulations to both.
4In preparation for the next phase of the Natchez National Historical Park, archeologists and architects began pouring over the site of Fort Rosalie this week. The work will help locate the exact site of the fort and will help locate preserve any artifacts on the site.
4With the lowest bid accepted, the construction of the new helipad at Natchez Regional Medical Center will soon begin. When completed, the helipad will help facilitate medical helicopter service transferring patients in and out of the hospital. Currently, helicopters must land at the airport and patients transferred by ambulance.
4New Natchez City Attorney Everett T. Sanders was sworn in for what we hope will be a long, successful run helping steer the city&8217;s leadership through legal concerns.
We hope your week is filled with good news.
