MEADVILLE &8212; Authorities in Franklin County are searching for a 74-year-old man who hasn&8217;t been seen in three weeks.
Family members of Juil Matthews reported him missing this week, after discovering he was not in his house. He lives alone on Evans Road.
Matthews is just over 6 feet tall and weighs 180 pounds. He has graying hair and is balding. His eyes are hazel. He drives a red 1989 Mazda truck.
Matthews was last seen by a neighbor on Oct. 9, his wife Patricia Magee said. Magee lives in Natchez; the two are separated.
Magee saw him on Sept. 25 and talked to him on the phone on Oct. 6. At that time he told her he was going to an auction. She said she didn&8217;t know where
the auction was.
Magee said Matthews does have a mild case of Alzheimer&8217;s disease and is bipolar.
&8220;My stomach is in knots,&8221; she said Thursday.
&8220;I have this bad feeling. When I went over there on the 25th, the first five minutes I talked to him he didn&8217;t act like he knew who I was.&8221;
Magee said Matthews has never wandered off on his own before.
The Franklin County Sheriff&8217;s Office sent deputies to Matthews house this week and found no sign of him, Magee said.
Anyone with information regarding Matthews&8217;s whereabouts is asked to call the FCSO at 601-384-2323.
