NATCHEZ &8212; A teen that allegedly broke out a window in an occupied home got more than he bargained for Wednesday morning.
Charles Edward Noble, 18, was later arrested on charges of robbery with a deadly weapon, but not before a visit to the hospital.
&8220;The complainant was laying in bed,&8221; Police Chief Mike Mullins said. &8220;An unknown subject knocked out the window near his bed and yelled at him to lay on the floor.&8221;
The resident of the house at 10B Shaw St., then reached for a handgun and fired three shots, Mullins said.
&8220;He heard a scream in pain and called the police,&8221; Mullins said.
The resident later found the front door to the house partially open, and officers found a tennis shoe outside the window.
As police were responding to the call on Shaw Street they received a call from Natchez Regional saying a gunshot victim had come in.
Noble has a gunshot wound to his lower left leg, Mullins said. He was treated and released from the hospital and is currently in the city jail.
Investigations led to the arrest of two more men, Shonkeith Calvin, 18, 108 Parker St., and Tyrone O&8217;Neal Hollins, 27, 100 St. Catherine St., No. 305. Both were charged with robbery using a deadly weapon.
All three will be arraigned today.
They will be charged with robbery because Noble allegedly yelled a threat when he broke through the window, Mullins said.
Two people were in the home at the time of incident, but neither was injured. Nothing was taken from the house.
Mullins said Noble originally went to his grandfather&8217;s house, but was then taken to the emergency room. At first, his story was that he&8217;d been shot in a bar, Mullins said.
&8220;Further questioning determined he&8217;d been shot by the complainant,&8221; Mullins said.
Shaw Street is off of St. Catherine Street, between Fourth Street and Old Devereux Street.
