NATCHEZ — Services for Louis L. Knight, 68, of Natchez, who died Monday, Dec. 26, 2011, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Sibley with the Rev. Douglas Logan officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Knight was born July 27, 1943, in Sibley, the son of Tom Knight and Ailean Knight Perry. He attended Adams County schools and was retired.

Mr. Knight was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church and served on the Usher Board. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Albert Williams, Emma Lee Farmer and Josephine Pressley.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby J. Knight; one daughter, Darshell Knight, both of St. Louis, Mo.; one son, LaMar Knight and wife, Regina, of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, Wesley and Andres´ Holmes of St. Louis, Lauren and Kaylynn Knight of Houston; one brother, Willie Knight of Sibley; one sister, Lucinda Sashfras of Natchez; two godchildren, James Walker of Jackson and Miznarre Walker of Natchez; four stepsisters, Carrie Washington of Natchez, Mateal Mejia of Houston, Adella Mitchell of Los Angeles and Jessie B. Martin of Vidalia; two aunts, Rosie L. Perry of Natchez and Marie Rumbles of St. Louis; two aunts-in-law, Gladys Williams of New Orleans and Hattie Evans and husband, Johnny, of Natchez; a special friend, Joseph “Jobie” Williams of Sibley; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Johnson, Tyrone Perry, Walter Green, Dewayne Thompson, Charles Barnes and Donald Barnes.
