NATCHEZ — Services for Emerick Mondale “Black” Henderson, 34, of Natchez, who died Monday, Dec. 26, 2011, at his residence, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. LeRoy White officiating.
Burial will follow at Leesdale Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Henderson was born Nov. 2, 1977, in Natchez, the son of Nathan “WC” Tenner and Ola Tenner. He was a 1996 graduate of Natchez High School and was employed by Natchez Market for a number of years as a butcher.
Mr. Henderson was Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Sarah Henderson; paternal grandfather, James Albert Tenner Sr.; one aunt, Rosalie Minor; and two uncles, James Albert Tenner Jr. and Grover Hammer Tenner.
Survivors include his mother; grandmother, Josephine Curtis, both of Natchez; twin brother, Derrick “Redd” Henderson of Nashville, Tenn.; four sisters, Aretha Wiley and husband, Cassius, of Jackson, Angela Tenner of Natchez, and twins Annette and Johnette Winston of Chicago; four aunts, Juanita Doby of Maryland, Pearlina Hill and husband, Frank, Elaine Boxley and Brenda Proby, all of Natchez; five uncles, Cortez White and wife, JoAnn, John White and wife, Brenda, Vernon Lewis and wife, Beverly, all of Natchez, Johnny Cage of Nashville and Seargent Brooks of Meskegon, Mich.; three nephews, Cassius Wiley Jr. of Jackson, Kaldrick Tenner and Travanté Henderson, both of Natchez; two nieces, Casharia Wiley of Jackson and DaVesia Tenner of Natchez; and a number of loving family members and friends who adored him.
Pallbearers will be Kerry Dunmore, Travis Matthews, Johnny Mayberry, Lamond McCoy, Glen O’Neal and Tyrone Washington.
Honorary pallbearers will be Derrick “Redd” Henderson, Theodore Gooden, John Johnson, Ronnie Minor, Ricky Minor and Stevie Minor.
