VIDALIA — The Vidalia father and stepson wanted on charges of attempted first-degree murder turned themselves in to the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office Wednesday morning and were released on bail in the afternoon.
Kenneth Brad Fife, 32, 119 Carolyn Circle and Michael H. Hill, 19, same address, were wanted in connection to a Monday morning fight that sent another Vidalia man to a Jackson hospital in critical condition.
Fife and Hill were released on $50,000 bond set by District Judge Kathy Johnson.
The victim, Jeremy Naff, 35, 1615 Camellia St., was allegedly beaten and kicked repeatedly in the head and face.
Naff remained in the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s intensive care unit Wednesday evening and was in serious condition.
Fife was originally charged with second-degree battery following the fight in the yard of his residence and Hill, his stepson, was initially charged with simple battery.
Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office continued the investigation and questioned witnesses Monday and Tuesday before initiating warrants on the attempted murder charges.
According to witnesses, the fight may have stemmed from an argument at an area bar earlier on Christmas night. Dispatch received the call of the fight at approximately 2:58 a.m. Monday.
